Jewelry care tips

All 925 silver jewelry purchased from us is water resistant and should not tarnish over time. Our gold-plated jewelry is also made of 925 silver. Do not expose the jewelry to sweat, water, perfumes, alcohol or other substances to ensure that the gold plating is not damaged. Because our jewelry is plated with real gold, it too will oxidize over time. This means it will look like blackened jewelry or tarnished jewelry. If you want to delay this, then you should follow our jewelry care tips below, but you should also store the jewelry in the right way.

We recommend regular maintenance of all jewelry (cleaning with bicarbonate powder every 6 months ) to ensure maximum shine.

Below we have put together some tips for storing, caring for and wearing your jewellery.

  • If possible, jewelry should not be worn during sports, showering/bathing, swimming, sunbathing, in the sauna or when doing house and garden work.
  • Sweat, chlorine and salt water can damage the surface of your silver jewelry. Therefore, avoid any contact as much as possible.
  • Toothpaste, denture cleaners or solvents are also not suitable cleaning agents for silver jewelry.
  • Jewelry should be cleaned as often as possible. Normal soapy water is suitable for jewelry without stones. Please do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning liquid.
  • Natural products such as pearls should not be treated with soapy water. Use a soft oiled cloth to clean and maintain shine.
  • Silver jewelery with a polished surface should be cleaned with a commercially available silver cleaning cloth or in a silver bath. Silver jewelery can only be cleaned up to 5 times in a silver bath.
  • Matted surfaces can be cleaned with an eraser, whitewash or a neutral detergent. Please rinse the jewelry well with water after cleaning.
  • Scratched surfaces can be worked up with a cleaning sponge or a soft brush.
  • Silver jewelry without stones can also be cleaned in a salt bath. Use a plastic bowl and dissolve the table salt in boiling water approx. 200 g / 1 liter. Then place your silver jewelry on a piece of aluminum foil at the bottom of the bowl. The dirt should come off fairly quickly. Then rinse the silver jewelery under cold water, dry it and, if necessary, polish it with a soft cloth.
  • Coral jewelry should be cleaned from time to time with a damp and soft cloth. Do not clean in the ultrasonic device or in the immersion bath for silver jewelry. If possible, avoid contact of coral with cosmetics and hairspray.
  • It is best to store your silver jewelery in an airtight manner (e.g. in a plastic bag with a pressure seal). The airtight storage of the jewelry prevents the silver jewelry from tarnishing or oxidizing.
  • To protect against scratches, keep your silver jewelery in suitable jewelery boxes with many compartments and ring rails.
  • rubber jewelry
Please avoid contact with sunscreen, skin cream, shampoo and shower gel. The substances it contains (fats, creams) can react with the rubber, causing it to swell or lose its elasticity.

We recommend cleaning all jewelry with bicarbonate powder every 6 months for maximum shine. With the right treatment and care, your little treasures can stay beautiful for a long time and your jewelry will always look like new.
